Vale Park is a beautiful 35-acre city
park located on Nott Terrace. Considered the upper edge of downtown
Schenectady, the location springs forth as an unexpected burst of nature
in an otherwise urban environment. A group of active citizens and business people work together each year to improve Vale Park. Started in 1994 under the auspices of Schenectady 2000, the Vale Park Task force adopted Vale Park on Nott Terrace on the edge of downtown Schenectady. The group recognized the park’s potential as a forest in a city. Over the past ten years, tens of thousands of hours and dollars have been dedicated to the goal of improving the park and encouraging its use. Complete with a playground, ponds, trails, gazebo, pavilion and an historic cemetery, the park is an underutilized resource. As you read through this website, you’ll
see why volunteers have put so much effort into the revitalization of
downtown and the evidence of their hard work. Visit Vale Park today! Click here for a brief history of the park... |
